INFANT SCHOOL - 3rd YEAR

PRIMARY SCHOOL - Ist YEAR    

ITINERARY - 1/2 meetings*

A story revised for educational purposes, exploration of the museum’s rooms, games of movement and musical games will allow you to examine the stages of processing needed to obtain flour for bread-making.

* Possibility to combine the activity with the bread-making itinerary, the visit to the mill and carry out the first meeting in the classroom.

 


 

The Pale Mountains

INFANT SCHOOL - 3rd YEAR

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 1st and 2nd YEARS    

WORKSHOP - 1 meeting*

The legend of the Pale Mountains will come to life before the children's eyes and, after being turned into little dwarfs, they will be involved in the workshop activities. They will learn to spin the moonlight and weave with ease, also with little looms and other especially made tools.

Marisana and the golden spindle                                          

INFANT SCHOOL - 3rd YEAR

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 1st and 2nd YEARS    

WORKSHOP - 1 meeting*

Thanks to the story entitled La Tousa Valenta, the little participants will be led by the protagonists of the story themselves to observe the objects on show in several rooms, while in the second part of the meeting, the children will be able to try their hand at an amusing practical activity.

On the path of legends

INFANT SCHOOL - 3rd YEAR

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 4th and 5th YEARS    

EXCURSION 1 4-hour meeting* (in collaboration with the Gardeccia Mountain Lodge)

After having met the characters from the traditional Fassa tales in the Museum's stube, the itinerary continues on in the kingdom of King Laurino, who will lead the children along the path between Ciampedie and Gardeccia, through six of the most beautiful legends set in the peaks of the Rosengarten group massif.

* Possibility to enjoy this excursion in spring and autumn, depending on the opening hours of the cable railway.


 

Works taking place in July

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 2nd YEAR

       

PERCORSO 2 incontri*

The subject of haymaking, introduced by the animated reading of the Contìa de Messèl by Simon de Giulio, becomes a pretext for carefully observing the objects of material culture on show in the rooms, ending with cooperative play and participatory research activities.

Pan un, pan doi, pan trei… Traditional bread-making

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 1st and 2nd YEARS

       

ITINERARY 1 meeting*

Flour, water and yeast: what magic turns these simple ingredients into a tasty loaf of bread? The activity will help to reveal the secrets of traditional bread-making thanks to the support of ethnographic objects and a fun workshop activity will allow the children to get their hands dirty!

* Possibility to combine the activity with the “Giacomina and her friends” itinerary and the visit to the mill

 


 

Along the wood trail. From the forest to the sawmill

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 1st, 2nd and 3rd YEARS

       

Workshop - 1 meeting*

The children will go on a recreational journey of exploration and sensory stimulation during which they will get to know the typical species of trees in the forest. Afterwards, the objects and multimedia aids will be the vehicle used for getting a closer look at the traditional trades of lumberjack, sawyer and carpenter.  

* Possibility to combine the activity with the visit to the sawmill in Penia

 


 

“Chel dal formai... Cheese-making past and present        

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 2nd YEAR

       

WORKSHOP 1 meeting*

The activity will be conducted at the "Fassa Valley Social Cheese Factory" in Pera di Fassa. The first part will take place in the new territorial branch of the "L Malghier - La Caseificazione (Cheese-making)” Museum, where the various stages of milk processing based on the traditional cheese-making system will be analysed. In the second part, it will be possible to observe the entire processing procedure directly in the production rooms at the cheese factory.

* The visit to the cheese factory can also be requested by classes of different types and levels

 


 

What does the Zeberchie do? Fassa masks and farces

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th YEARS

       

ITINERARY - 1 meeting*

The use of videos, iconographic material and direct contact with the masks, will introduce the children to the fascinating world of the mascherèdes, the traditional carnivalesque farces, the characters of which come to life through games and simulations.

* For the 4th and 5th year classes, there is the possibility to combine this with “Let's Unleash Carnival!”

 


 

I live on the Pigui. From flint to iron                                      

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 3rd YEAR

       

WORKSHOP - 1 meeting*

The analysis of the Rhaetian stronghold of Pigui and of its findings will make it possible to reconstruct the characteristics and main activities that took place inside the prehistoric village. Furthermore, participants will have to deal with the techniques and materials from the metal age to create several objects used in daily life.

*The itinerary concludes the topic of prehistory that began with the hunter-gatherers of the Mesolithic age

 


 

My village then and now                                 

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 3rd YEAR

       

ITINERARY 2 meetings*

An itinerary focused on the discovery of the Fassa territory along the main roads in the children’s various villages of origin. A selection of period photos and an outing in the territory will make it possible to draw a map of the most significant areas and buildings.

Once upon a time... Salvans, Bregostènes and others

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 3rd, 4th and 5th YEARS

       

ITINERARY - 2 meetings*

In the rooms at the Museum the children will discover the places in which knowledge is transmitted and they will then get to know the characters from the Fassa oral tradition through amusing games, films and dramatizations.

My roots. Music, nursery rhymes and Ladin songs 

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 5th YEAR

       

ITINERARY - 1 meeting*

The aim of this learning itinerary is to present the numerous aspects linked to traditional music, through an analysis of the activities and journeys of musicians from Fassa, of the different types of music and instruments, from folk songs and nursery rhymes handed down by word of mouth. Lastly, the local context will be compared to the musical and singing traditions of other minorities.

 


 

The secrets of the Latemàr                                                                                                                  

PRIMARY SCHOOL - 3rd, 4th and 5th YEARS

       

EXCURSION - 1 meeting

The activity aims to accompany the young participants on a journey not only to discover the stories and characters of Fassa oral tradition, but also wants to lead them to the discovery of a magical place, the Latemàr, a real “bewitched mountain”, a chest full of hidden treasures, a place where mysterious creatures dwell and the stage on which epic battles took place...

The visit to Molin de Pèzol begins outside the building, observing the channelling and the transmission system of the large paddle wheels driven by the force of the water. Inside the mill, you can get a close look at the gear system, the components of the milling complex and the miller's equipment.

* Possibility to integrate this with the “Giacomina and her friends” and Pan un, pan doi, pan trei” educational activities

ITINERARY - 1 meeting*

The sawmill in Penìa represents the last example of a "Venetian-type" hydraulic sawmill that still functions in the Fassa Valley. The visit will provide the opportunity to observe the sawmill in operation and analyse the details of the entire mechanism; it will also be an excellent opportunity to introduce the topic of wood and the multiple ways in which it is used.

* Possibility to integrate this with the visit to the new branch of the “L Segat” Museum in Pozza di Fassa and to combine it with the “Painters and Colours” and “Off with the mask! Fassa disguises and farces” educational activities

ITINERARY - 1-4 meetings

Four units accompanied by workshops and musical activities, which can also be enjoyed singly, are focused on the discovery of life in the Ladin community, with moments of ritual, festivities and the rhythms of nature.

Painters and colours

ITINERARY - 1 meeting + WORKSHOP -1 meeting

Painters from Fassa characterized a period of the valley’s history with their long seasonal journeys, leaving us a lot to learn: the technique, the colours and the symbols used. During the workshop, participants will embark on practical experimentation utilizing the traditional painting techniques.

Live observation and direct contact with a wide selection of original objects and reading of texts taken from diaries of that period will allow participants to fully understand the terrible conditions in which people lived during the First World War, particularly with regard to the Fassa population.

 


 

The magic of symbols: the witch in the churn

ITINERARY - 1-2 meetings

Vivane, Salvans and other characters brought to us through oral tradition, will populate the journey on which we will discover the link between the human world and the laws of nature. Understanding the symbols and beliefs deeply-rooted in products and in objects will make it possible to reproduce them later on in drawings.

 


 

I tesores de la Pieif. A historical-artistic visit to the Parish Church of San Giovanni

ITINERARY - 1 meeting*

The visit to the ancient Parish Church of Fassa, a precious example of Alpine-Gothic style architecture, will allow you to observe the numerous works of art located here with a critical eye and it will be an excellent educational tool for getting a deeper knowledge of the subjects linked to the history of local art, thus becoming a departure point for the introduction to numerous aspects of the history of the Fassa Valley.

I mistères de Sènt'Uiana. A historical-artistic visit the Sanctuary of Santa Giuliana

ITINERARY - 1 meeting*

The church of Santa Giuliana is one of the most ancient religious buildings in the Fassa valley, built in a primitive pre-Christian place of worship, permeated by mystery and the setting for numerous legends. The visit will be an opportunity to go on an interesting journey of discovery of an environment full of important historical and artistic evidence.

* Possibility to combine this with the visit to the Parish Church of San Giovanni

 


 

Off with the mask! Fassa disguises and farces

MIDDLE SCHOOL

ITINERARY - 1 meeting*

By using iconographic documents and videos, you will discover the mascherèdes, the traditional carnivalesque farces, while searching for the secrets of how the wooden masks were made and analysing the features encoded in the behaviour of the different characters.

* For the Middle School: possibility to combine this with "Let’s Unleash Carnival!"

An itinerary with multiple meetings, designed go deeper into the history, culture and traditions of the Ladin ethnicity, while also leaving time for other activities. As well as the rooms at the Ladin Museum, it will be possible to visit the Territorial Branches and choose between the numerous topics proposed.

 


 

Partnership projects

FOR EVERYONE  

 

All teachers who would like to and have the possibility of fulfilling, an educational project with their class, with regard to the local context and its different and specific cultural aspects, will always find a museum team in the Educational Services, consisting of experts in the specific sector and in communication, linguistics and museum education. 

The Educational Services are available to offer both support and real collaboration in order to establish a partnership relationship, with the aim of designing and managing educational projects together, sharing methodologies, strategies and training objectives.

Furthermore, several experimental projects from past years may be adapted to the needs of single classes or used as a departure point for new programmes. Among the different topics addressed, there are, for example:
